Fox Barrel Cider Company Awarded A Gold Medal for Its Pear Cider

Fox Barrel Cider Company was recently awarded a gold medal for its Hard Pear Cider in the California Brewers Competition. The company learned of the honor during the California Brewers Festival which was held in Sacramento at Discovery Park on September 10th.

"It is great to win the gold medal in this competition because the category was so broad" said Bruce Nissen, one of the owners of the small Colfax based company. "Unlike most competitions that have a separate cider category, the California Brewers category includes both ciders and fruit flavored beers, drawing many more entries from breweries across the state" he added. Sean Deorsey, cider-maker and owner, commented "We spend so much time in our cidery working on making the best ciders possible, it is great to to get such positive external feedback."
