Fox Barrel Ciders Awarded Gold Medals at the 2006 California State Fair & West Coast Brewers Competition

Fox Barrel Cider Company was recently awarded 1st Place for its Pear Cider at the California State Fair, with its competition held in May. This competition has grown to over 475 entries from over 60 breweries statewide.

The Hard Apple Cider received a gold medal at the West Coast Brewers Commercial Craft Competition, also in May, held in Sacramento, CA. This year’s beer & cider competition drew over 210 entries from multiple West Coast states.

“As we continue to refine our cider making, this kind of recognition is very satisfying”, said Sean Deorsey, Fox Barrel’s cider-maker. “It is accolades like this that validate that we’re on the right path in our pursuit to making world-class ciders.”

Fox Barrel is a growing young company, who released its first product for sale in early 2005. The company is focused on producing high quality ciders using apple juice local to their region. Their products are currently available throughout California and Oregon, and soon to be in Washington. In August, Fox Barrel’s tasting room will be open on the weekends for cider enthusiasts to visit and have a pint.
